How do you measure the passing of three decades of memories on an island gem? You recall the second and third generations of visitors who now call you friends. Children, followed by six grandchildren continue to fill your hearts with love and joy as they breathe new life into our appreciation of nature’s wonders. A man’s love of flight has assured that he was keeping it level, and always had his eyes on the horizon. She has been kind and caring, and always in tune to other’s feelings in her work and in her play. As you sit quietly on the deck of Cabin #4 at ice-out, or at sunset’s glow, rejoice in a job well done, and give thanks for all who have contributed to your immeasurable collection of warm and life changing island memories.
Take the time to withdraw from life’s daily routines, and reflect on all that renews your soul. You have traversed still waters with ease, and stayed the course in the face of many storms. Guide your canoe to a place of quiet and shelter, and refresh in the calm of this island respite.
As the sun rises and sets, we journey together.
This collector piece is one out of a growing edition that I started creating in 2016. You will notice that the edition number and the artist’s signature is engraved on the back of the kayak, so as more pieces are created in the Kayak Series in the future, the lower edition numbers will translate to an increase in value with the passage of time.

The stone that is selected for these pieces comes from either Lake Temagami or Muskoka, which are both beautiful areas in Ontario, Canada. If you haven’t had to chance to visit these areas, be sure to do so. This piece will really “come alive” when placed in the direct sunlight by a window.
